STATEMENT TO THE CELEBRATION OF ORGANIC INDEPENDENCE DAY 12-17-07

Greetings, I am Majesty Akahi Nui.

I would like to thank you for your invitation to participate in this inaugural Celebration of Organic Independence. It is an honor to be a part of this landmark event; for the right of all people to healthy, natural and nutritious food. Though I am not there in person, know that I stand with you in Spirit. Two agricultural meccas, worlds apart, joined in Purpose.

As King of Hawaii, I seek to secure the welfare of my people at all times. It is the duty of all leaders to Serve the best interests of not only their own people, but those with whom their nation has friendship.

The food a nation eats determines its condition. The health of that food determines its vitality. The preservation of healthy food is of highest importance for a balanced society. If a nation's food is full of poisons, it is expressed in its character. How can a people be in balance if the foods they eat are made from things toxic to life, or designed for quantity at the expense of health? Foods are the foundation of who we are.

The Creator gave us food for our health and prosperity; a Gift from the Earth to sustain us. As our mother, the Earth takes care of us, so we must take care of Her. Do we poison our mother, or care for Her in every way? What type of message does the way we treat our world send to He who gave us life? We cannot own the Earth, but care for it the way the Creator intended while we are here.

So we must ask ourselves; what are we doing with the Gift that has been given us? Do you know what happens when a Gift is not honored? It is taken away. For commercial interests to poison the land for financial gains at the expense of our health is unacceptable. With so many advancements in science, what are we doing with them? Genetic manipulation of life in the name of profit is an irresponsible use of technology. I as King of Hawaii will not stand for the poisoning of my people or my lands.

We stand this day at the gate of the choice to do what is right or wrong. By making sure the interests of the people are upheld, we hold those who profit at our expense accountable for their actions. It is the duty of all people to care for the world which sustains us, as its Protectors. We are the main line of defense against the insanity of genetic modification.

We have in our hands every means to restore the ecosystems of the Earth to their balanced pristine state. As we look to the future and do what is right, we make a difference for the better for all generations to come. During this holiday season, let us give thanks for the Gifts that so many take for granted; good health, sound family, and a prosperous lifestyle. America is the most prosperous nation in the world, so what will you do with this prosperity?

Know that I as King shall seek to secure the prosperous destiny of all people with whom my Kingdom is blessed, on whatever shore. In this I am proud to stand among your ranks, for it is together we leave a sustainable legacy for all generations to come. Thank you.
